Delivering an ambulance to Mongolia

Delivering an ambulance to Mongolia

About Us

Mongol Response is the team name for Matt Greene and Ross Dolton’s Charity Rallies journey to Mongolia.

We’re both from East Sussex, England and have known each other for years. After a couple of seasons running a ski chalet, we thought we knew each other well enough to embark on a slightly more challenging adventure. So with surprisingly little pre-planning we signed up for the Charity Rallies drive to Mongolia.

After investigating it further (while we came to like the idea more and more) it became clear that Mongolia is quite some distance away from East Sussex and this trip would require some pretty serious organisation. Since we were going to have to leave our jobs anyway, we thought we might as well commit wholeheartedly to the idea, get the most out of it and give the most back, that we possibly could.

That’s how we came to the idea of taking a 4x4 ambulance to Mongolia (it started off as an ambulance, then became a 4x4 ambulance, then a steam-powered 4x4 ambulance, then it went back to being a 4x4 ambulance again). If you’re going to drive something all the way to Mongolia to give to somebody, you might as well make it something useful - or even better than useful - something that saves lives.

We've now completed our journey, handed the ambulance over and raised over £1000 for Save the Children. Thank you so much to everyone who helped us in any way. We love you all.
